My work with the USGS consists of designing, installing and maintaining equipment that monitors volcanoes and earthquakes for the Alaska Volcano Observatory.
I have worked for the Alaska Volcano Observatory since 2004. In the 17 years I've been working here I have lead over 50 individual field campaigns focusing on building, installing and maintaining remote power and communications systems that allow the collection of real-time volcano monitoring data. I was trained as a geologist, then learned analog short period telemetry and seismic equipment. Now we do IP-based networking for digital data telemetry.
