Research on Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) in the New England Water Science Center
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) New England Water Science Center works with national programs and other partners on interpretive hydrologic science, such as determining the drivers of PFAS contamination in groundwater used for drinking-water supplies in the United States.

New Study on Historical Trends in Large Floods in the United States
A new study, “The Occurrence of Large Floods in the United States in the Modern Hydroclimate Regime: Seasonality, Trends, and Large-Scale Climate Associations,” evaluates changes in the number of large river floods across the United States over a recent 50-year period. It includes the first detailed characterization of large-flood seasonality.
