Kilauea Message 2026-08-25 15:10:50 HST
North vent fountaining continues with steady heights around 350 feet (110 m). No fountaining observed from south or west vents. Plume has dropped to around 12,000 feet (3,700 m) above sealevel. Plume is being blown to southwest.

The north vent fountain has dropped to 350 feet (100 meters) and is still feeding large lava flows into Halemaʻumaʻu crater. The plume has dropped to just over 14,000 feet (4000 meters) above sealevel and is blowing to the southwest.

North vent fountains have reached their probably maximum height of 500 feet (150 meters). The top of the plume cloud reaches to 17,000 feet (5200 meters) above sea level and is moving to the southwest. Light ash may fall in Kaʻu.

The first precursory overflow occurred from the north vent from 6:16 a.m. to 6:37 a.m. Summit inflation continues.
Kilauea Message 2026-08-25 05:44:55 HST
Summit inflation continues and has exceeded episode 53 deflation by over a microradian. Glow and spattering from the vents intensified after midnight with the north vent spattering almost continuously.

Inflation of the summit of Kīlauea, recorded by the UWD tiltmeter, has equaled the amount of deflation during episode 53. Precursory overflows could begin any time. Small amounts of spatter have been observed with flames from both vents.
