Aaron Russell, 2021-2022 CAP Fellow

Detailed Description

Dr. Aaron Russell is a member of the inaugural 2021-2022 "Future of Fire" cohort in the CASC Network Climate Adaptation Postdoctoral Fellows Program. He is working with the South Central CASC at Oklahoma State University.

Aaron grew up in New Mexico and completed his undergraduate and masters work at the University of New Mexico, where he received bachelor’s degrees in environmental science and political science and a Master’s of Science in Geography and Environmental Studies. Aaron is currently finishing a doctoral program in Water Science and Policy at the University of Delaware. His research includes surveys of community perceptions of wind development, and policy analysis of hydropower relicensing programs with a focus on stakeholder collaboration and learning. He utilizes mixed methodological approaches including internet and mail surveys, interviews, and statistical analyses. Aaron is interested in broadening his experience researching community responses to climate and energy policy as well as contributing to the academy’s role in community service and teaching.
