Akepa
Detailed Description
Many native Hawaiian forest birds, including the Akepa, have undergone steep population declines. The committee split the Akepa into three species in 2015, recognizing the uniqueness of the highly endangered populations on the islands of Hawaii, Maui, and Oahu.
