Arches National Park

This view is looking southwest along the Colorado River canyon along Utah Highway 128. Arches National Park is located on the high country to the right (north) of the Colorado River for part of the highway's route between Cisco on I-70 and Moab, Utah. The shale of the Chinle Formation forms the slope of the canyon, whereas the Wingate Sandstone and overlying Navajo Sandstone form high cliffs and rim the canyon and its tributaries in the area.
