Capitol Reef - switchbacks of the Burr Trail
Detailed Description
This view is looking down (east) into the bowl-shaped valley that is home to the historic switchbacks of the Burr Trail in southern Capitol Reef National Park. The road cuts through a narrow gorge in the hogback ridge of steeply eastward-dipping Navajo Sandstone in the Waterpocket Monocline.
