Carlsbad Caverns - small alcoves

This view is of one of the small alcoves along side of the Big Room in Carlsbad Caverns. Most of the images in this photo tour were taken using the artificial lighting that the National Park Service installed in the public portions of the cavern. This image, however, used the camera's xenon flash. Many of the passages are too large for flash photography.
