Colorado National Monument - large monoclinal fold

Detailed Description

This view near the East Entrance to Colorado National Monument shows the large monoclinal fold along the south face of the great escarpment along north side of the Uncompaghre Plateau and the south side of the Grand Valley near Grand Junction. The steep fold occurs in association with the Redlands Fault that runs along the south flank of the escarpment (Scott and others, 2001).
