Dune elevation

Detailed Description

Dune crest elevations (or the height of the top of sand dunes) collected by USGS are a key component of the Total Water Level and Coastal Change Forecast Viewer, a tool developed by USGS and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The viewer provides real-time total water levels and forecasts of coastal change based on local beach characteristics. Here, dune crest elevations are displayed for sandy coasts along the U.S. Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico coasts.
