EROS Fall Poster Session 2024
Detailed Description
Posters from South Dakota State University and University of South Dakota college students and EROS staff members line the atrium November 13, 2024, for the Fall Poster Session at the USGS Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center. Brenden Elwer of SDSU discusses his research with Joel Connot, a scientist who is a contractor at EROS. Elwer’s poster is “Understanding Variability in Habitat Quality to Inform Invasive Species Management.” He collected ground samples to measure where food is most abundant for invasive carp species and used Landsat products to help identify where the best habitat is for carp. The idea is to help fish and wildlife managers find the most likely locations for the species.
