An exciting couple of weeks at Kīlauea

Detailed Description

A surge of magma from Kīlauea's summit reservoir reached the eruption site on May 20 and May 23. The volume of lava erupted was higher than normal and caused dome fountains to play above skylights in the over-filled lava tube, as seen on February 1, 1996.
