Histology lab at the Fish Health Laboratory prior to renovations

Detailed Description

Histology laboratory with microtoming area to the left.  Microtoming is when tissues are cut into very thin slices and placed on glass slides prior to being stained and coveslipped.  In the center is the incubator where slides are dried when needed.  And on the right is the trimming center where tissues are removed from their formalin fixative under a fume hood, cut into small pieces, and placed into cassettes prior to being processed.  Photo was taken prior to laboratory renovations which began in 2021.
