Hydrologic Technician Brendan Crowley collecting a water quality sample at Moose River in Victory, VT (01134500). This site is sampled monthly for the Upper Connecticut River Watershed project.

This project began in February 2023 with a focus on better understanding the magnitude and timing of nitrogen transported to Long Island Sound from tributaries to the Connecticut River in the northern portion of the Connecticut River watershed.

The primary goal of the study is to develop and implement a water quality monitoring strategy for nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in the upper basin states of Massachusetts, Vermont, and New Hampshire.
