Lake Mead - an angular unconformity between sediments
Detailed Description
This view shows an angular unconformity between overlying Quaternary-age alluvial fan deposits and an underlying surface on dipping sedimentary strata (sandstone and shale) of the Muddy Creek Formation (Late Miocene). This view is along Gypsum Wash near milepost 2 on Northshore Road.
