Lake Mead - steeply dipping strata

Detailed Description

This view is looking west toward a hogback ridge is along the Northshore Road near milepost 15. Steeply dipping strata in the cliff face to the left consist of the Bitter Ridge Limestone Member of the Horse Spring Formation. The steeply dipping strata on the right consist of Late Paleozoic-age limestone and sandstone (Kaibab and Toroweap Formations)(Tingley and others, 2001; Beard and others, 2007).
