Landsat Collection 2 Generation Timeline
Detailed Description
This graphic displays the timeline of generating Landsat products.
Landsat 9 Collection 2 Level-1 products are delivered within 4-6 hours of acquisition. Landsat 9 Level-2 Surface Reflectance and Surface Temperature products become available in about 3 days.
Landsat 8 Level-1 products are initially processed and made available as Real-Time (RT) products. Refined Thermal Infrared Sensor (TIRS) instrument line of sight model parameters are required to generate a Landsat 8 tiered product - this can take up to 10 days. Landsat 8 Collection 2 Level-2 Surface Reflectance and Surface Temperature products typically then become available within 24 hours after tiered product has been generated.
For both Landsat 8 and Landsat 9, U.S. Analysis Ready Data (ARD) are created 2 to 3 days after Level-2 science products are generated.
