Detailed Description

Megachile apicalis 1930.  Europe, North Africa, Near and Middle East.  Western and eastern United States.  Relatively few records in the East but widespread in California and parts of the Pacific Northwest where it specializes on Yellow Star-thistle (Centaurea solstitialis)and is often moved around with Megachile rotundata pollinator tubes.
