Mixture of gradual deposits and mud from the estuary
Detailed Description
This illustration contrasts sediment that is (A) the result of storm deposits (i.e., flushed annually and re-deposited) and (B) sediment that has accumulated gradually (i.e., aggraded episodically). In image A, stacked, normally graded deposits get thinner as they head towards the bay, then abruptly stop at and of the channel. Image B shows a mixture of gradual deposits and mud from the estuary.
