Detailed Description
Upper: Eastward view of summit area with Crater Rock lava dome in upper right. Much of summit area is made up of a cluster of older lava domes. Crevassed head of Reid Glacier in lower left; Zigzag Glacier in lower right. Illumination Rock is sharp peak between the two glaciers near bottom of photo. Sandy Glacier is visible in center left.
Lower: . The gray, snow-free areas above and left of Crater Rock and to the right below snow patch are sites of fumaroles and warm ground. Owing to its location on a steep slope, erosion of the outer flanks of the lava dome have exposed its massive interior.
