Navajo - a forest in the valley near Betatakin Ruin
Detailed Description
A mixed forest of aspen, scrub oak, box elder, Douglas fir, and many other plants thrive in the valley near Betatakin Ruin. The climate in the area has dry, warm summers (with daily highs of about 85 degrees F.) with occasional late summer thunderstorms. Winters are cold (about 35 degrees F.) and snowy. Springtime is cool and windy (NPS, 2010).
