Detailed Description

One of the largest Joshua-tree forests is on the northern flank of Cima Dome in the Mojave National Preserve. Cima Dome is a pediment surface on bedrock of granitic rocks of the Jurassic and Cretaceous age of the Teutonia batholith in the eastern Mojave Desert region (Beckerman and others, 1982; Webb and Norris, 1990).
