Oblique aerial photographs of Isle of Palms, South Carolina. View looking northwest along the South Carolina shore. High waves and storm surge from Hurricane Joaquin eroded the beach, transported sand inland (green arrow) and exposed the seawall in front of the high rise buildings.  Note the standing water and newly deposited sand to the right of the high rise building (near the yellow arrow) that indicate possible overwash.
