Pacific Northwest and the Missoula Floods

Detailed Description
At the end of the last Ice Age, a finger an ice sheet crept southward into the Idaho panhandle, forming a large ice dam with the massive Glacial Lake Missoula trapped behind it. When the highest ice dam failed, lake water burst through at high speeds and carving the landscape as it rushed toward the Pacific Ocean.
