Phosphorus and other nutrients can enter urban streams via urban runoff during rainfall events. Here an urban sewer overflow, due to heavy rains, is causing runoff likely containing phoshorus, nitrogen, ammonia, nitrates, and raw sewage into Fall Creek, Indianapolis, Indiana.
