Photograph from a Northern Pintail Duck (Anas acuta) found dead in Arizona, US. (A) The pectoral muscle contains numerous sarcocysts (arrowheads) of Sarcocystis sp. that are grossly visible as tan rice grain-like structures. An area of hemorrhage (*) is also shown.
