Pipe Spring - source of water

Detailed Description

Pipe Spring has long been an important source of water on the Arizona Strip. Water at Pipe Spring and nearby springs comes to the surface along an escarpment (seen in distance) associated with the Sevier Fault, a major north-south trending normal fault that extends from the Grand Canyon region northward into central Utah (NPS, 2009). The unusual sandstone block in the foreground is located near the Monument's visitor center.
