Point cloud image of landslide

Detailed Description
In 2024, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Uncrewed Systems Office (NUSO) provided technical support for the National Park Service to assess road damage and landslide hazards after Hurricane Helene along the Blue Ridge Parkway. USGS NUSO remote pilots collected small uncrewed aircraft system (sUAS)-based lidar data at strategic locations along the parkway in North Carolina. USGS geographer Mark Bauer processed the lidar data to generate a three-dimensional point cloud. The point cloud can be classified to label points with different features, such as vegetation, which is colored orange in this image.
