The R/V Polaris Retires
Detailed Description
The USGS R/V Polaris completed over 1000 water quality sampling cruises in San Francisco Bay from 1969-2015. From this long-term observational dataset, we can detect events that fall outside of the long-term patterns. In this infographic we highlight events of extreme high and low salinity, temperature, chlorophyll, and dissolved oxygen, and indicate the connection between these events and hydroclimatic forcing. Poster presented at the 2016 Bay Delta Science Conference.
