Detailed Description

San Pablo Bay study area. Red line crossing bay shows the newly mapped extension of the Hayward fault (HF) pointing toward the Rodgers Creek fault (RCF). Scientists collected vertical images (profiles) of underwater sediment layers along the yellow lines; plus signs show where images reveal a fault. Black bar shows the location of the seismic-reflection profile in Hayward Fault figure.
