USGS Hydro Tech, Peter Kester, arranging a CS655 probe cable
Detailed Description
USGS Hydro Tech, Peter Kester, arranging a CS655 probe cable to prevent moisture from flowing to sensor head. CS655 sensors are placed in a hand dug pit at depths of 100, 50, 20, 10, and 5 centimeters. The pits are dug with precision so that the sensor can be placed into undisturbed soil upslope of the pit. Soil is then hand packed around the sensor head with the remaining soil backfilled and tamped to ensure minimal disturbance.
