USGS Hydrologic Technician attempts to thaw the float

USGS, Central Midwest Water Science Center, Hydrologic Technicians sometimes work under strenous and difficult situations.  Here  they were boiling water at the top of the well in an attempt to unfreeze the float at Marseilles, Illinois.  Ty Poole is at the top of the well and Ryan Beaulin is on the ground taking the picture.
