UTV Training

Our staff go through training to learn how to safely operate UTVs—utility task vehicles—in the field. We use the UTVs for hauling gear (and people) to field sites that are difficult to get to. For example, we transport heavy/bulky gear like cores and coring devices, generators, ground penetrating radar (GPR) units, and more to remote locations along barrier islands and other coastal environments to learn how these places are changing over time. We also use the UTVs to launch personal watercraft in remote locations where there may not be a boat ramp available.
