Detailed Description

Wes is a retired USGS Emeritus scientist originally from chicago, Illinois. He received his B.S. degree in geology from Washington State University in 1973. He received his PhD in geomorphology and planetary geology from the University of Washington in 1978. He was named a GSA Fellow in 1993 and has been two-term president of the NABGG. He served as Chief Scientist of the USGS Astrogeology Program in Flagstaff from 1996 to 2003, and was named the Regional Executive for Geology of the Western Region of the USGS that same year. He was the GSA Bromery Award recipient 2011.
