Wheat seeds

Wheat seeds and those of many other agricultural crops are commonly coated with pesticides and fungicides. These seed dressings pose a potential environmental risk to soil-dwelling organisms, as ~80% of the active ingredient remains in the soil and is not taken up by the plant.
