"Microscopy images of the white-nose syndrome fungus (green) invading lab-grown bat skin cells (purple), comparing two skin cell types over time. At cool temperature (12°C), the fungus grows as thin filaments. After 8 hours at warm temperature (37°C), filaments thicken and branch, then form dense spore clusters. Both skin cell types show similar fungal invasion."
