Hi my name is Nick Stasulis and I work with the Maine Office of New England Water Science Center. In this video, we will briefly review how to enable the RiverSurveyor Stationary Live software for field operation, enabling it for use.

It is important to first point out that data already collected with RSSL can be processed on any computer with the RSSL software. To collect data using RSSL, however, a firmware license must be purchased from SonTek for each M9 or S5. Upon purchase, a code will be provided that is loaded into the M9 or S5, enabling that unit to collect data on any computer with the RSSL software installed.

To enable a unit, open the SonTek Utilities program and connect to the ADCP. Once connected, select the Security options button. If the unit is already enabled, you will notice the Enable Stationary option is checked and grayed out, listed as Enabled. If the unit is not enabled, check the Enable Stationary option, enter the code provided by SonTek in the box here and select Enable System Option. Now, the unit is activated and can be connected to any computer with the RSSL software installed to collect data.
