Powell Center Working Group Featured in NEON Observatory Blog
Our Modeling Mosquito Phenology Working Group was featured in the March 15, 2021 NEON Observatory Blog. Mosquitos are important ecologically, and some species are important vectors for human and wildlife diseases.
The blog describes how extensive combined data from NEON, the National Ecological Observatory Network, and the NPN, the National Phenology Network are being used by an interdisciplinary team to develop and apply forecasting tools based on climate and life history knowledge of where and when mosquito outbreaks could occur each year.
