Answer:  Alaska - Alaska has more large earthquakes than the rest of the United States combined. More than three-quarters of the state’s population live in an areas that can experience a magnitude 7 earthquake.

Earthquakes can be significant natural events, and the USGS is at the forefront of earthquake research to provide information on methods for early warning of earthquake events to save lives and property, help mitigate earthquake impacts nationwide, and facilitate recovery and rebuilding efforts.
