Est_noise

March 6, 2019

Importantly, the presence of temporal correlations in data can significantly impact the estimates of standard errors of the parameters that define the functions describing the time-variations in the data. est_noise is bundled with other programs that can help the user to clean up their data prior to analysis, and assess the quality of the estimates of noise from est_noise. est_noise has been used to analyze GPS and borehole strainmeter data, and it can be applied to other data types.

Author: John Langbein
Usage: Analyze time-series data to quantify temporal correlations and simultaneously estimate rates, offsets, and other functional dependencies.
Platform: Unix or Mac. Requires a Fortran compiler
Interface: Command line
Input: Time series data
Output: Measures of power-law noise, white noise, and more. Estimates of rates, offsets, and more, along with their standard errors.
