Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Airborne horizontal magnetic gradient and radiometric survey over parts of southeast Missouri, southern Illinois and western Kentucky - The Gap survey, 2021 Airborne horizontal magnetic gradient and radiometric survey over parts of southeast Missouri, southern Illinois and western Kentucky - The Gap survey, 2021

This publication provides digital flight line data for a high-resolution horizontal magnetic gradient and radiometric survey over an area of southeast Missouri, southern Illinois, and western Kentucky. The survey was conducted in collaboration with the Missouri Geological Survey as part of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Earth Mapping Resource Initiative (Earth MRI) effort (Day, 2019)...

Regional and Teleseismic Observations for Finite-Fault Product Regional and Teleseismic Observations for Finite-Fault Product

This data release complements the following publication: Goldberg, D. E., P. Koch, D. Melgar, S. Riquelme, and W. L. Yeck (2022). Beyond the Teleseism: Introducing Regional Seismic and Geodetic Data into Routine USGS Finite-Fault Modeling, Seismol. Res. Lett. XX, 1–16, doi: 10.1785/0220220047. Rapid finite-fault models are published by the US Geological Survey (USGS) National Earthquake

Select Groundwater-Quality and Quality-Control Data from the National Water-Quality Assessment Project 2019 to Present (ver. 4.0, April 2025) Select Groundwater-Quality and Quality-Control Data from the National Water-Quality Assessment Project 2019 to Present (ver. 4.0, April 2025)

Groundwater samples were collected and analyzed from 1,015 wells as part of the National Water-Quality Assessment Project of the U.S. Geological Survey National Water-Quality Program and the water-quality data and quality-control data are included in this data release. The samples were collected from three types of well networks: principal aquifer study networks, which are used to assess...

Bias-corrected daily precipitation at 1-kilometer resolution for Puerto Rico from Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) dynamical downscaled historical (1985-2005) and projected (2040-60) climate Bias-corrected daily precipitation at 1-kilometer resolution for Puerto Rico from Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) dynamical downscaled historical (1985-2005) and projected (2040-60) climate

This data release consists of four network Common Data Form (netCDF) files of bias-corrected daily precipitation at 1-kilometer (km) scale for historical and projected climate of Puerto Rico. The Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model was used by Bowden and others (2018) to downscale two general circulation models (GCMs) from the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project phase 5 (CMIP5...

Data Collected to Assess the Occurrence and Distribution of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances in West Virginia Public Source-Water Supplies, 2019 - 2021 Data Collected to Assess the Occurrence and Distribution of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances in West Virginia Public Source-Water Supplies, 2019 - 2021

Source water for West Virginia’s public water systems is pumped from groundwater aquifers or withdrawn from the state’s rivers and lakes. These systems provide drinking water to a majority of the state’s population and require constant monitoring for known and emerging contaminants. Groundwater contamination from Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) has occurred in West Virginia...
