Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Concentrations of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and related chemical and physical data at and near surface-water/groundwater boundaries on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, 2016-19 Concentrations of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and related chemical and physical data at and near surface-water/groundwater boundaries on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, 2016-19
Groundwater, surface-water, sediment, and associated quality-control samples were collected downgradient from a former fire training area and wastewater infiltration beds on Cape Cod, Massachusetts and analyzed for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Samples were collected between July 2016 and February 2019 following U.S. Geological Survey protocols. Field parameters reported...
Neosho Madtom (Noturus placidus) short read archive and whole genome sequence data Neosho Madtom (Noturus placidus) short read archive and whole genome sequence data
Whole genome sequence data from ten Neosho madtom originating from three geographically separated populations. A Neosho madtom genome was de novo assembled and genome size and content were assessed. Genomic DNA was used to construct one small insert paired-end library per fish with an approximate insert size of 300 bp. The library was constructed following the manufacturer's protocol...
Data for volatile organic compounds in groundwater used for public supply across the United States, 2013-19, and data for associated quality-control samples Data for volatile organic compounds in groundwater used for public supply across the United States, 2013-19, and data for associated quality-control samples
This data release includes tables and time-series plots of results for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) analyzed in samples of groundwater used for public supply that were collected by the USGS National Water-Quality Assessment (NAWQA) Project and the California State Water Resources Control Board’s Groundwater Ambient Monitoring and Assessment Program Priority Basin Project (GAMA-PBP)...
Spatial and temporal variability of surface and bottom summer water temperature at cool-water areas in the Pend Oreille River, Washington (ver. 4.0, April 2026) Spatial and temporal variability of surface and bottom summer water temperature at cool-water areas in the Pend Oreille River, Washington (ver. 4.0, April 2026)
The water temperature data were collected in summer 2021, 2023, 2024, and 2025. Continuously recording temperature loggers were deployed at the confluences of Indian Creek and Duncan Springs in the Pend Oreille River. Loggers were deployed near the substratum and near the surface of the water column. This data release supersedes Mejia, F.H., Torgersen, C.E., Berntsen, E.K., and Johnsen...
USGS National and Global Oil and Gas Assessment Project-China Assessment Unit Boundaries and Assessment Input Forms USGS National and Global Oil and Gas Assessment Project-China Assessment Unit Boundaries and Assessment Input Forms
This data release contains the boundaries of conventional assessment units for the assessment of undiscovered oil and gas resources in China. The Assessment Unit is the fundamental unit used in the National Assessment Project for the assessment of undiscovered oil and gas resources. The Assessment Unit is defined within the context of the higher-level Total Petroleum System. The...
Data supporting: Draft Genome Sequence of a Novel Calicivirus from a Brown Bullhead (Ameiurus nebulosus) from Lake Memphremagog, VT Data supporting: Draft Genome Sequence of a Novel Calicivirus from a Brown Bullhead (Ameiurus nebulosus) from Lake Memphremagog, VT
We report a draft genome of a previously undescribed calicivirus from a single brown bullhead inhabiting Lake Memphremagog, Vermont/Quebec. The genome is 7413 nt in length and is most similar to the Atlantic salmon calicivirus (nucleotide identity: 64.7%).
