Aquaculture, domestic, irrigation, and livestock water withdrawals from the Sparta aquifer by parish in Louisiana, 2021 Aquaculture, domestic, irrigation, and livestock water withdrawals from the Sparta aquifer by parish in Louisiana, 2021

Since 1975, annual water use for Louisiana has been published on a 5-year basis and is used for a variety of purposes. As the Sparta aquifer is a heavily used aquifer, is the sole source of groundwater for many parishes in Louisiana, and recent withdrawals have exceeded the Sparta’s natural recharge, a more frequent compilation of water usage for the Sparta aquifer in Louisiana is needed...

High resolution natural color and light detection and ranging (LiDAR) collected by uncrewed aircraft system (UAS) for mapping forest health post forest thinning at Sawmill Springs in the Kaibab National Forest, AZ, 2025 High resolution natural color and light detection and ranging (LiDAR) collected by uncrewed aircraft system (UAS) for mapping forest health post forest thinning at Sawmill Springs in the Kaibab National Forest, AZ, 2025

The U.S. Geological Survey collected low-altitude airborne natural color imagery and LIDAR data via a fixed-wing uncrewed aircraft system (UAS) for mapping Sawmill Springs area in the Kaibab National Forest in Arizona. Visual imagery was collected in joint photographic experts group (jpg) (for color imagery) format and Structure-from-Motion (SfM) photogrammetry techniques were applied to...

Tephra accumulation and wind data for Kīlauea’s 2008–2018 lava lake eruption Tephra accumulation and wind data for Kīlauea’s 2008–2018 lava lake eruption

The 2008–2018 summit eruption at Kīlauea formed an active and slowily expanding lava lake within Halemaʻumaʻu Crater that lasted 10 years before draining. To consistently collect proximal tephra ejected from the lava lake, which was nested within the new, informally named “Overlook crater,” a network of ten plastic buckets was established early and emptied on most days of the eruption...

Altitude of the Potentiometric Surfaces of the Memphis aquifer, Shelby County, TN Altitude of the Potentiometric Surfaces of the Memphis aquifer, Shelby County, TN

The Memphis aquifer is the primary source of groundwater for municipal, industrial, and commercial uses in the Memphis area. The Memphis area includes all of Shelby County and parts of Tipton and Fayette Counties in Tennessee, parts of DeSoto and Marshall Counties in Mississippi, and part of Crittenden County in Arkansas (Kingsbury, 2018). Long-term withdrawals form the aquifer since...

Airborne electromagnetic and magnetic survey near Coalinga and Pyramid Hills, California, 2022 Airborne electromagnetic and magnetic survey near Coalinga and Pyramid Hills, California, 2022

Airborne electromagnetic (AEM) and magnetic survey data were collected during November 2022 over a total distance of 2,372 line kilometers over two study areas in the Pleasant Valley near the city of Coalinga, California and the region surrounding the Pyramid Hills. These data were collected adjacent to areas of oil and gas production in support of groundwater salinity mapping and...

Reflectance data from vitrinite and bituminite in the Kimmeridge Clay Formation supporting the ICCP Identification of Dispersed Organic Matter Working Group round robin exercises from 2016 to 2020 Reflectance data from vitrinite and bituminite in the Kimmeridge Clay Formation supporting the ICCP Identification of Dispersed Organic Matter Working Group round robin exercises from 2016 to 2020

Three round robin exercises (RRE) aimed at characterizing bituminite and testing the reproducibility of random vitrinite (VRo %) and bituminite (BitRo %) reflectance measurements of the Kimmeridge Clay Formation were conducted in 2016, 2018, and 2020. This work was conducted by the Identification of Dispersed Organic Matter Working Group (IDOM WG) of the International Committee for Coal...
