Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Ring widths, scans of samples, and ancillary data from Sequoia sempervirens (coast redwood) trees and stumps at Fort Ross and Gualala, sampled for dendroseismology in 2021–2024 Ring widths, scans of samples, and ancillary data from Sequoia sempervirens (coast redwood) trees and stumps at Fort Ross and Gualala, sampled for dendroseismology in 2021–2024
Sequoia sempervirens (coast redwood) trees were sampled for a dendroseismological investigation along the North Coast Section of the San Andreas Fault, and the data were fully analyzed, interpreted, and discussed in a journal article and supplemental material (Carroll et al., 2025). Here, were provide data associated with this work: 1200 dpi resolution images of tree cores and stumps...
Point cloud and digital elevation data from terrestrial laser scanning of the San Andreas Fault and coast redwood trees near Fort Ross, California Point cloud and digital elevation data from terrestrial laser scanning of the San Andreas Fault and coast redwood trees near Fort Ross, California
These data are derived from laser scanning surveys of the San Andreas Fault and surrounding groves of trees in Fort Ross State Historic Park, California. Surveys were performed on May 13, 2013 and June 19–20, 2024. The second survey was performed specifically to document the morphology of trees that show signs of past earthquake damage, four of which were sampled for dendroseismology...
Trout mark-recapture and stream temperature and streamflow data from Duck Creek, Montana Trout mark-recapture and stream temperature and streamflow data from Duck Creek, Montana
The data release includes a fish sampling dataset and a dataset of estimates of stream temperature and discharge. These datasets were created to assess how Yellowstone cutthroat trout (Oncorhynchus virginalis bouvieri; formally Oncorhynchus clarkii bouvieri) responded to interannual changes in stream temperature and discharge and the occurrence of non-native brown trout (Salmo trutta)...
Profiles and properties of Martian gully flows from HiRISE DTMs and orthoimages, 2006-2020 Profiles and properties of Martian gully flows from HiRISE DTMs and orthoimages, 2006-2020
This dataset contains shapefiles that describe topographic long profiles of recent Martian gully flows recording various information about the flow and host gully. Each profile has some or all of the following: a profile of the active flow, a profile of the full gully, the location of the channel mouth, a profile recording different types of activity, a shapefile with locations of...
Temperature Data From Wells in Long Valley Caldera, California, 2018-present Temperature Data From Wells in Long Valley Caldera, California, 2018-present
This data release consists of well temperature logs from Long Valley Caldera, California, which have been measured to characterize the spatial and temporal variations of the subsurface heat flow. Two methods were used to measure temperatures. The first method, a portable hand cranked reel with a platinum resistance thermometer (PRT), with an accuracy and precision of 0.1 degrees Celsius...
Spatial data layers for a site prioritization tool for invasive species Spatial data layers for a site prioritization tool for invasive species
These spatial layers were created to provide estimates of non-native species invasion risk across the contiguous United States based on proximity to human population centers and transportation corridors, and proximity to known locations of non-native species. To calculate the human transport risk layer we estimated the proximity to human population centers, transportation corridors, and...
