Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Geospatial Datasets of the Glacial Geology and Hydrogeology of the Owasco Inlet Watershed, Cayuga and Tompkins Counties, New York Geospatial Datasets of the Glacial Geology and Hydrogeology of the Owasco Inlet Watershed, Cayuga and Tompkins Counties, New York
In 2015, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), began an appraisal of the sand and gravel aquifers within the Owasco Inlet watershed, which covers about 117 square miles (mi2) and drains north directly to Owasco Lake, one of New York’s Finger Lakes. About three-quarters of the watershed is within Cayuga...
High-resolution Geophysical and Imagery Data Collected in May 2023 Near Fort Hase, Marine Corps Base Hawaii High-resolution Geophysical and Imagery Data Collected in May 2023 Near Fort Hase, Marine Corps Base Hawaii
Scientists from the U.S. Geological Survey St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center in St. Petersburg, Florida (USGS – SPCSMC), conducted a geophysical and imagery survey around Fort Hase Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) and Coconut Island, on the island of Oahu, Hawaii (HI), during May 2023. During this study, multibeam bathymetry and acoustic backscatter data were collected...
Horizontal-to-Vertical Spectral Ratio (HVSR) Soundings and Depth-to-Bedrock Data for the Owasco Inlet Watershed, Cayuga and Tompkins Counties, New York 2016 Horizontal-to-Vertical Spectral Ratio (HVSR) Soundings and Depth-to-Bedrock Data for the Owasco Inlet Watershed, Cayuga and Tompkins Counties, New York 2016
In 2016, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, collected horizontal-to-vertical seismic soundings at 31 locations in the Owasco Inlet valley, Cayuga and Tompkins Counties, New York to help determine thickness of the unconsolidated deposits. The HVSR technique, commonly referred to as the passive-seismic method, is...
Bedrock stratigraphic and structural data and deep-seated landslide density for the Tyee Formation, OR, USA Bedrock stratigraphic and structural data and deep-seated landslide density for the Tyee Formation, OR, USA
Compilation of field data collected in the Oregon Coast Range Tyee Formation. Location, strike and dip, Relative composition and bed thickness of interbedded sandstone and siltstone, Schmidt Hammer stiffness, notes, and sampled landslide density are provided. Landslide density is calculated using the manually mapped landslide deposit polygons from LaHusen et al. (2020).
Horizontal-to-Vertical Spectral Ratio (HVSR) Soundings in Broome, Chenango, Franklin, Orange, Rensselaer, and Saratoga Counties, New York, and Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania 2010-2019 Horizontal-to-Vertical Spectral Ratio (HVSR) Soundings in Broome, Chenango, Franklin, Orange, Rensselaer, and Saratoga Counties, New York, and Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania 2010-2019
From 2010 through 2019, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, collected horizontal-to-vertical seismic soundings at 100 locations in upstate New York and 1 location in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania to evaluate the technique (control-point measurements) and to support aquifer-mapping projects (Heisig, 2012, 2015)...
Geospatial datasets for Glacial geology and hydrogeology of valley-fill aquifers in the Oneonta area, Otsego and Delaware Counties, New York Geospatial datasets for Glacial geology and hydrogeology of valley-fill aquifers in the Oneonta area, Otsego and Delaware Counties, New York
From 2016 to 2018, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, conducted a study of the glacial geology and hydrogeology of valley-fill (sand and gravel) aquifers and surrounding uplands within a 112-square-mile area in southern Otsego and northwestern Delaware Counties, New York, centered around the city of Oneonta. The...
