Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Biological and chemical data from laboratory toxicity exposures of wildland fire retardants to Rainbow Trout Biological and chemical data from laboratory toxicity exposures of wildland fire retardants to Rainbow Trout
We measured Survival endpoints for juvenile rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) in response to exposure to wildland fire retardants. Exposures were less than 24 hours. We documented time to mortality hourly through 12 hours of exposure and again at 24 hours. This data set includes data for three current use fire retardants from the US Forest Service Qualified Products List (Phos-Chek 259...
Chemistry of Orange and Reference Streams in Northwestern Alaska Chemistry of Orange and Reference Streams in Northwestern Alaska
These data include water chemistry from headwater streams to large rivers that have recently turned orange and reference rivers that have not. These samples were collected in two national parks in Arctic Alaska: Kobuk Valley National Park, and Noatak National Preserve.
Assessing Connectivity among Coastal and Interior Cactus Wrens in California using Population Genomics (2021) Assessing Connectivity among Coastal and Interior Cactus Wrens in California using Population Genomics (2021)
The Coastal Cactus Wren is a species of high conservation concern in southern California. The goal of this project was to obtain taxonomic resolution of subspecies boundaries between coastal and desert populations of Cactus Wrens. We collected genetic samples from Cactus Wrens at California desert sites and combined this dataset with previously collected samples from coastal populations...
San Diego River Shot Hole Borer Study (ver. 2.0, August 2024) San Diego River Shot Hole Borer Study (ver. 2.0, August 2024)
Data presented are results of vegetation sampling conducted in 2019-20 and 2023 in 24 survey plots to document the status of infestation by shot hole borers (Euwallacea sp.) on the riparian vegetation at the San Diego River. This dataset presents location, percent cover of different vegetation types, and number of seedlings for each survey plot. In addition, for each tree and sapling in...
USGS Streamgages in the Conterminous United States Indexed to NHDPlus v2.1 Flowlines to Support Streamgage Watershed InforMation (SWIM), 2021 USGS Streamgages in the Conterminous United States Indexed to NHDPlus v2.1 Flowlines to Support Streamgage Watershed InforMation (SWIM), 2021
This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release includes locations for 12,422 USGS streamgages as indexed along the network of streams (flowlines) in NHDPlus Version 2.1 (NHDPlus v2, Moore and Dewald, 2016). The dataset is one of two datasets developed for the Streamgage Watershed InforMation (SWIM) project. This dataset, which is referred to as “SWIM streamgage locations,” was created...
High-resolution Geophysical Data Collected in June 2022 Near Tyndall Air Force Base, Panama City, Florida High-resolution Geophysical Data Collected in June 2022 Near Tyndall Air Force Base, Panama City, Florida
Scientists from the U.S. Geological Survey St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center in St. Petersburg, Florida (USGS - SPCSMC), conducted a geophysical survey within the interior bay north of the Tyndall Air Force Base, Panama City, Florida, during June 2022. During this study, multibeam bathymetry and acoustic backscatter data were collected aboard the research vessel (R/V)...
