Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

MODFLOW-NWT model for extending the capture map concept to estimate discrete and risk-based streamflow depletion potential MODFLOW-NWT model for extending the capture map concept to estimate discrete and risk-based streamflow depletion potential
A previously developed groundwater flow model (https://doi.org/10.5066/P9051RUT) was slightly modified to estimate the risk-based discrete relation between groundwater extraction and surface-water/groundwater exchange. Previously, the concept of a ``capture map'' has been put forward as a means to effectively summarize this relation for decision-making consumption. While capture maps...
Debris-flow and Flood Video Files, Chalk Cliffs, Colorado, USA, 2016 Debris-flow and Flood Video Files, Chalk Cliffs, Colorado, USA, 2016
Chalk Cliffs located 8 miles southwest of Buena Vista, Colorado, is one of the most active debris-flow areas in the state (U.S. Geological Survey). Three stations were set up at Chalk Cliffs which are located sequentially along a channel draining the 0.3 km2 study area. These stations are equipped with rain gauges, laser distance meters, and data loggers to record rainfall and stage data...
Average tree regrowth time of CONUS from 1985 to 2017 Average tree regrowth time of CONUS from 1985 to 2017
We developed a 30-m spatial resolution forest regrowth time map for CONUS over 1985–2017. This map is the first attempt, as far as we know, to quantify tree regrowth rate at a national extent in the United States. The method used all available Landsat images to detect disturbances over forest lands and classify grass/shrub to tree class transitions on an annual basis. The average...
MODFLOW-NWT model for risk-based decision-support groundwater modeling for the lower San Antonio River Basin, Texas, USA MODFLOW-NWT model for risk-based decision-support groundwater modeling for the lower San Antonio River Basin, Texas, USA
A MODFLOW-NWT groundwater/surface-water model was developed to evaluate the responses of low-flow conditions and groundwater levels within the lower San Antonio River Basin, Texas, USA under conditions of reduced recharge and increased groundwater withdrawals. There was concern that decreased recharge and increased groundwater withdrawals may adversely affect streamflow and groundwater...
Point Sampling Data for Eelgrass (Zostera marina) and Seaweed Distribution and Abundance in Bays Adjacent to the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge, Alaska, 2008-2010 Point Sampling Data for Eelgrass (Zostera marina) and Seaweed Distribution and Abundance in Bays Adjacent to the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge, Alaska, 2008-2010
These data are in six tables relating to surveys of eelgrass beds in three bays adjacent to Togiak National Wildlife Refuge, in southwestern Alaska. The tables provide environmental conditions, eelgrass abundance, distribution, and measurements used to estimate overall biomass.
Point Sampling Data for Eelgrass (Zostera marina) and Seaweed Distribution and Abundance in Bays Adjacent to the Alaska Peninsula-Becharof National Wildlife Refuges, Alaska, 2010 Point Sampling Data for Eelgrass (Zostera marina) and Seaweed Distribution and Abundance in Bays Adjacent to the Alaska Peninsula-Becharof National Wildlife Refuges, Alaska, 2010
These data are in six tables relating to surveys of eelgrass beds in Chignik Lagoon and Mud Bay, Alaska Peninsula-Becharof National Wildlife Refuges. The tables provide environmental conditions, eelgrass abundance, distribution, and measurements used to estimate overall biomass.
