Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Water temperature data from the Priest River, Idaho, 2018-2019 Water temperature data from the Priest River, Idaho, 2018-2019
Water temperature data were collected in summer 2018 and 2019. Temperature data loggers were deployed in tributary confluences and the mainstem of the lower Priest River between Priest Lake Outlet Dam and the confluence with the Pend Oreille River. Data loggers were checked every 2 to 3 weeks throughout the summer. Data for Lagrangian longitudinal thermal profiles were obtained on August...
Spatially-explicit predictive maps of greater sage-grouse nest selection integrated with nest survival in Nevada and northeastern California, USA Spatially-explicit predictive maps of greater sage-grouse nest selection integrated with nest survival in Nevada and northeastern California, USA
We applied spatially-explicit models to a spatiotemporally robust dataset of greater sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus) nest locations and fates across wildfire-altered sagebrush ecosystems of the Great Basin ecoregion, western USA. Using sage-grouse as a focal species, we quantified scale-dependent factors driving nest site selection and nest survival across broad spatial scales in...

Whooping crane migration habitat selection data and distance to wind-energy infrastructure, 2010-2016 Whooping crane migration habitat selection data and distance to wind-energy infrastructure, 2010-2016
These data were developed to support an effort to understand how whooping cranes select stopover habitat in the presence of wind-energy infrastructure. Location and associated data came from whooping cranes from the Aransas-Wood Buffalo Population, 2010-2016. We marked a sample of 57 whooping cranes with leg-mounted transmitters that acquired locations via the global positioning system...
Data release for Accounting for Land in the United States: Integrating Physical Land Cover, Land Use, and Monetary Valuation Data release for Accounting for Land in the United States: Integrating Physical Land Cover, Land Use, and Monetary Valuation
Land plays a critical role in both economic and environmental accounting. As an asset, it occupies a unique position at the intersection of the System of National Accounts (SNA), the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting Central Framework (SEEA-CF), and (as a spatial unit) SEEA Experimental Ecosystem Accounting (SEEA-EEA), making land a natural starting point for developing natural...
Grand Falls, Arizona: Dune Field Sand Transport 2017 - 2019 Grand Falls, Arizona: Dune Field Sand Transport 2017 - 2019
As part of a NASA-funded study of sediment flux rates at a Mars analog site, we installed a suite of instruments in a small dune field near Grand Falls, Arizona. Data released in this report was collected from 02/07/2017 to 05/22/2019. The Grand Falls (GF) dune field is located on the Navajo Nation. It lies ~70 km NE of Flagstaff, AZ, 2 km east of Grand Falls, and just north of the...
