Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Geospatial Datasets of Factors Influencing Groundwater Emergence Flood Hazard in Long Island, New York and near Coastal Areas Surrounding Long Island Sound in New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island Geospatial Datasets of Factors Influencing Groundwater Emergence Flood Hazard in Long Island, New York and near Coastal Areas Surrounding Long Island Sound in New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island

This data release contains raster datasets representing depth to water table, calculated from steady-state groundwater models developed by the U.S. Geological Survey (Jahn and others, 2024; Barclay and others, 2024). The depth to water table rasters are available at an approximate resolution of 10 meters. In addition, depth to water table, hydrologic soil types, and landcover are...

Geochemical, environmental, and quality assurance data for springs in eastern Oregon and northern Nevada Geochemical, environmental, and quality assurance data for springs in eastern Oregon and northern Nevada

This data release contains field and geochemical data, discharge measurements, and descriptive observations for 261 springs in eastern Oregon and northern Nevada. Data were collected during water years 2016–2023. The data release also includes quality assurance analyses and the results of a logistic model documented in the accompanying study report (Johnson, in review).

Contour Dataset of the Potentiometric Surfaces of Shallow and Deep Groundwater-Level Altitudes in the Walla Walla River Basin, Oregon and Washington, January–April 2021 Contour Dataset of the Potentiometric Surfaces of Shallow and Deep Groundwater-Level Altitudes in the Walla Walla River Basin, Oregon and Washington, January–April 2021

This dataset contains manually developed 50-, 100-, and 500-ft contours depicting shallow and deep potentiometric-surface maps for the Walla Walla River Basin aquifer system, Oregon and Washington. The potentiometric surfaces show altitude at the water-table throughout the region (shallow) and at which the water level would have risen in tightly-cased wells beneath the basin-fill...

Louisiana Barrier Island Comprehensive Monitoring Program – 2021 habitat map, East Chenier Region (ver 2.0, March 2026) Louisiana Barrier Island Comprehensive Monitoring Program – 2021 habitat map, East Chenier Region (ver 2.0, March 2026)

The Barrier Island Comprehensive Monitoring (BICM) program was developed by Louisiana’s Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) and is implemented as a component of the System Wide Assessment and Monitoring Program (SWAMP). The program uses both historical data and contemporary data collections to assess and monitor changes in the aerial and subaqueous extent of islands...

Benthic macroinfaunal community abundance, richness, and biomass data taken at the Mississippi barrier islands, 2010-2023 Benthic macroinfaunal community abundance, richness, and biomass data taken at the Mississippi barrier islands, 2010-2023

This dataset contains metrics of benthic assemblages taken before (pre) and after (post) barrier island restoration of the Mississippi Barrier Islands, which included sand placement on Cat and Ship Islands. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service considers the barrier islands along the Mississippi-Alabama coast as critical habitats for certain threated and endangered shorebird species...
