Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Survival, neonate counts, and water quality measurements in controlled exposures to long-term wildland fire retardants to Ceriodaphnia dubia Survival, neonate counts, and water quality measurements in controlled exposures to long-term wildland fire retardants to Ceriodaphnia dubia
We investigated the survival and reproductive success of Ceriodaphnia dubia that were exposed to a concentration series of four current-use fire retardants (Phos-Chek 259-Fx Phos-Chek MVP-Fx, Phos-Chek LC95A-Fx, and Phos-Chek LC95A-R) to determine if exposure duration and concentration of the product altered the survival of C. dubia and the number of neonates produced by C. dubia. We...
Longer exposure to warm water increases subsequent thermal tolerance of brook trout in cold water: acclimation timing and physiology Longer exposure to warm water increases subsequent thermal tolerance of brook trout in cold water: acclimation timing and physiology
This record contains data generated from a laboratory-based study examining the persistence of warm water acclimation following cold water recovery in an iconic cold-water species, the Eastern brook trout. The data set includes Critical Thermal Tolerance (CTmax) measures of fish in treatment groups: control (15 degrees C throughout), 1, 3, 7, and 14 days in warm water exposure (22...
Detection of Cumberlandia monodonta male mitotype eDNA from an outdoor raceway tank during a spawning event Detection of Cumberlandia monodonta male mitotype eDNA from an outdoor raceway tank during a spawning event
Data describe the detection of Spectaclecase (Cumberlandia monodonta) female and male mitotype environmental DNA (eDNA) during a spawning event. Water samples (approximately 1L) were collected from an outdoor raceway tank containing C. monodonta from March to April 2021 and analyzed for the presence of sex-specific eDNA. Parameters described in this data release include water quality...
Data and Code Release: Copper-based control of zebra mussel (Dreissena polymorpha) settlement and non-target impacts on Lake Minnetonka: Treatment and Post application monitoring (2019-2022) Data and Code Release: Copper-based control of zebra mussel (Dreissena polymorpha) settlement and non-target impacts on Lake Minnetonka: Treatment and Post application monitoring (2019-2022)
We conducted and evaluated a low-dose copper treatment (applied as EarthTec QZ) to suppress zebra mussel (Dreissena polymorpha) veliger abundance and settlement in a 66.3 ha bay in Lake Minnetonka (Hennepin County, MN) over a 3-y period. We maintained a mean (standard deviation [SD]) concentration of 83.0 (10.3) µg/L as copper over the 10-d treatment period, much lower than the maximum...
Datasets documenting Timescales of surface faulting preservation in low-strain intraplate regions from landscape evolution modeling and the geomorphic and historical record Datasets documenting Timescales of surface faulting preservation in low-strain intraplate regions from landscape evolution modeling and the geomorphic and historical record
This data release provides input data and landscape evolution modeling results to accompany the manuscript “Timescales of surface faulting preservation in low-strain intraplate regions from landscape evolution modeling and the geomorphic and historical record" (Thompson Jobe and Reitman, 2025). The data release includes two tabular datasets, a text file, and movies of the landscape...
Contaminants in bed sediment from surface waters collected in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed, 2021-24 Contaminants in bed sediment from surface waters collected in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed, 2021-24
This data release provides contaminant data from bed sediment collected from small streams between 2021 and 2024 in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. These data are part of a larger study designed to determine how conservation practices are affecting local stream ecosystem health, which stressors are negatively impacting streams, and which landscape characteristics are associated with better...
